I am an educator, author, and otaku. I try to love God and people as best I can. I live in the Chicago-land area.

teacher. I have taught in a variety of schools. I taught in Chicago Public Schools from 2003-2006. The first year was in a large high school on the West side. The following years in a small alternative school just South of the Loop. Unfortunately, CPS is very unstable and has closed both of these schools for different reasons. I taught in a Therapeutic Day School for children with emotional disorders in 2002. I am currently employed in at a Residential School for juveniles with addictions and emotional disorders. I am currently certified in teaching Mathematics to middle and high school students.

author. I enjoy writing in a variety of different genres and styles. I am currently writing a screenplay called “The Wolf of Benjamin.” It is a coming of age story about Saul, a Jewish boy, who grows up in Tarsus and Jerusalem during the reign of the Roman Empire. I am also developing a bible for an educational graphic novel series and curriculum that teaches mathematics. It is called “The Unparalleled Adventures of Euclid.” Its is set in a hard-core science-fiction world- so most of the science is real. I have a variety of other projects waiting to be written like 2084, Feng Shui Blues, Phoenix and Dragon, On the Road with Dr Sax and Lunar Falls.

otaku. I enjoy collecting manga and anime. I currently have a manga library with over 150 mangas. Some of my favorite authors (mangas) are Tohru Fujisawa (Great Teacher Onizuka), Masahito Soda (Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M), Naoki Urasawa (Monster) and Tomoko Ninomiya (Nodame Cantabile). I currently have over 100 titles and over 300 individual discs in my anime DVD library. How do I know this you may ask? Well, I keep an updated spreadsheet with a running total- it also includes the titles, directors, year, languages and ratings of each anime. My top five-faves are: Cowboy Bebop, Gankutsuo: the Count of Monte Cristo, Kaleido Star, Robotech, and Samurai 7.

spiritual. The following are a few verses from the Bible that summarize my beliefs:

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. ~Deuteronomy 6.4-5

The LORD says: “Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.” ~Leviticus 19.18

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. ~Ephesians 6.8-10

The Son, Jesus, is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. ~Hebrews 1.3

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. ~James 1.26-27

habitat. I have lived in the Chicago-land area for about seven years. I live alone, but I did share my life with an aquarium full of goldfish for a couple of years. I enjoy tending bonsai and an occasional vegetable garden in the summer. I need a place that doesn’t remind me of the stresses of teaching, so I prefer a habitat that is surrounded by nature- a lake, vegetation, birds, and other life.
